EXHIBITING
An important part of stamp collecting is sharing your prized philatelic
material with other collectors. One of the best ways of "sharing" is to exhibit
with the intent of reaching other collectors.
The K-W Stamp Club entered the special "One-Page" contest at
Toronto's STAMPEX 2006. Fifteen members prepared exhibits and collectively we won a gold
medal, in 2005 we won a silver medal. Congratulations to all participants. The competition
required exhibitors to include three philatelic "elements" in their exhibits.
All exhibits will be entered on this "feature page", during the next few months.
One-Page exhibiting is aimed at novice exhibitors. We do not all have time
to prepare a 16- or 32-page exhibit. The K-W Stamp Club executive is so enthusiastic about
this concept that it is offering a One-Page exhibits category at its 2008 STAMPFEST show.
A side benefit of exhibiting is studying and learning about history,
geography, and other subjects depicted on stamps.
